At the last GNCC in Sparta, Kentucky I was asked to put a GoPro camera on my bike to capture some race footage from a riders perspective.  I believe they want to start adding it into the GNCC TV shows and DVD's.  Anyway, they've added a small clip of the start of the Sparta race to the GNCC site.  It's pretty cool!  You can check it out here. It's Video Report #14.

As for that Sparta race itself, things were going great until about the halfway point when I crashed trying to get around an XC1 rider. I went down pretty hard and when I got back up I saw a huge hole in my ignition cover with oil already pouring out of it.  After some running back and forth between where I was at and the pits, our team mechanic Joey was able to eventually get a new cover on and add some oil so that I could get back out there.  I lost a lap in the process but at least I was able to finish the race.  Thanks Joey!

I just posted my race report for the latest GNCC in Ohio.  I'll go ahead and mention that It was pretty muddy!  Some people wondering if it was perhaps the muddiest GNCC ever!  Hopefully we'll have better weather in a few weeks when the series resumes in a few weeks Kentucky.  I know I'm looking forward to it!

I finally scored a decent result at Loretta's!  I have their several times over the years since it's the closest GNCC to home, but other than one year when I won the 200 A class, I've always seemed to struggle there.  It was good to see so many Arkansans at the race.  It was definitely hard to miss the ones with the neon shirts on!

It's hard to believe it's already time for Loretta's!  The first four rounds have definitely had their ups and downs but it's still been a lot of fun to be racing in such a competitive class.  Loretta's is one of the rockier races in the series and it always seems to be hot and humid.  I'm just hoping to better my 2007 performance where I came into the race a little bit under the weather and then ended up with a flat early on in the day.

I'm still alive!  There have been a few small problems with the site that have kept me from getting it updated.  It should all be fixed now, so look for some race reports and photos coming soon!

I haven't posted in over a month but I have a good excuse! There hasn't been a whole lot going on lately to talk about!  I've just been trying to ride as much as possible and do a little bit of testing for the bike.   I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow morning where we'll spend a few days riding before the first GNCC in Melbourne next Tuesday.  I know a lot of other guys have been down there for awhile already but I think I should be okay with just a few days practice down there.  I've been doing some sand riding here at home and I feel pretty comfortable in it.

We'll probably stay in Florida until Friday so that we can go to the Supercross at Daytona.  After that we'll head north to the second GNCC round in Georgia.

There seem to have been a lot of cool changes for GNCC's this year including transponder scoring.  No more having to stop and get scanned at the checks!  They're also saying that there will be a live web audio feed as well as live scoring on GNCCracing.com this year while the races are going on.  If it all works, that will be really cool!

Well I had better get back to packing so we can leave early tomorrow morning!  If anyone reading this happens to be at any of the races, stop by and say "Hi!"

The race report along with a few pictures is now up for the Mid-South race in Alabama this past weekend.  It was a fun race and I think it helped me get more comfortable on the new bike.  I'm pretty anxious to get another race or two under my belt before Florida!

I recently got my 2008 Yamaha practice bike in and have enjoyed being able to put some time on it.  Even though I'm just now getting back on a bike after a few months off, I figure the best way to gauge my fitness and endurance is to go race!  The Mid-South race in Alabama this weekend usually draws a pretty big crowd with some of the top riders so I'm going to go out and have some fun with it.  I'll be sure to report back on how it goes!
