Spartan GNCC

After getting off the line with a decent start, I basically just wanted to stay in touch with the leaders up front.  For most of the first half of the race my teammate Dustin and I rode together in 1st and 2nd.  Matusek was riding fast and was up there too, along with Kailub Russell.  Things went downhill pretty fast for me, however, after I went down trying to get around an XC1 rider.  When I got back up I saw a huge hole in my ignition cover with oil already pouring out of it.  After some running back and forth between where I was at and the pits, our team mechanic Joey was able to eventually get a new cover on and add some oil so that I could get back out there.  I lost a lap in the process but at least I was able to finish the race.  13th place isn't what I was hoping for but there are always going to be days when things just don't go your way.  Hopefully we'll get things back on track in North Carolina in a few weeks!
